Watch out, you pay in advance for respite care, on a credit card…only after you are owed a refund do they inform you that “corporate policy is all refunds have to be approved by corporate, it takes 30 days and they will issue a check, not refund the card” This is a good way for them to take advantage of families when they need support the most. By 30 days, the credit card already has to be paid…then you still wait for the refund. Not to mention I left a message on Monday about the refund and was never called back. I had to call again on Friday to even get a person. I was then promised the director would call me. Have not received a call yet. I paid for 7 days for my father, only used 3, I have to chase them down for a response?? I am owed $1400 back. I checked the written form I was given for his charges, no such “policy” was printed there. Not a reflection of the care, but certainly bad policies and bad management of the business office. Might have to contest the charges to get my refund. Not a family friendly policy. 2 stars only because the care was not the issue…

Still here and trying to get out of this horrible place. Under staffed and poorly skilled. Non responsive in any sense of the word. Many calls for help unanswered or long waits. Constant mixups regarding meds. Blood pressure equipment facility. Oxygen machine broken. PT and OT staff very good but 15 minutes a day not adequate. Nursing staff a mixed bag. One did not even know how to clean a wound and had to ask for another nurse. Overworked staff complained to me that the issues I brought up were not their fault and they were very defensive. Very disappointing and stressful experience. Not a healing environment. I don’t care if someone called in and others had to figure it out. I don’t care if it’s a holiday as an excuse for poor care. Patients don’t care if it’s a holiday. So much else I could write but right now I’m just trying to get released. Been at it for several hours. 😖

My father was there for a week, the Aides were great. We saw only 2 nurses, 1 when we checked him in and 1 when we checked him out. The therapists were awesome and very friendly!

I am writing this to warn any one considering this facility to care for their family. My family member stayed here for an extended period, and the level of care was not just poor and subpar, it was dangerous. We were present daily for nearly 10+ hours and witnessed a systemic failure in basic medical and operational standards. Wounds were constantly left untended, staff frequently lost track of what meds were administered, what oxygen level to use, what restrictions they had, and we constantly had to remind them of these things. At one point, they had hand written notes all over the room because no one knew what to do. Requests for bathroom and bathing assistance were routinely ignored. Most of the staff were inconsiderate and just flat out rude. Asking for any assistance was met with huffing, puffing and annoyed tones. You would think these staff members were serving court ordered community service with how resentful most of them acted when doing their jobs. Two different rooms had unsealed windows in the middle of winter, and we had to use towels to insulate them because the rooms were freezing. Our family member at several times was served a meal they didn’t even order, despite them being on a dietary restriction. This clearly poses a severe risk to others with specific dietary or medical restrictions. Of course the food is your typical low quality cafeteria slop. Management and clerical staff are completely inaccessible as well; scheduling an appointment or getting a response regarding records, appointments, next steps was nearly impossible. Appointments would be made without contacting us, things were told to our incoherent family member who was expected to remember to tell us, despite us constantly telling staff to call us if they need information. A representative from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs was onsite during our stay and stated they also noted many inconsistencies. They took a formal statement from us regarding our experience. There may be some positive reviews for this facility, but I truly believe it’s because these people were not here as often as we were or weren’t aware because their family couldn’t tell them. What was already a traumatic and stressful time for our family, was amplified by this facility at the end of our family members life. I am disgusted that they paid this facility thousands of dollars for this abysmal care at the end of their life, and we will regret having brought them here forever. If you care about your loved one’s health and dignity, do not send them here. They deserve better than this level of disorganization and neglect.

This skilled nursing facility has made remarkable improvements in both care quality and customer service. The staff are attentive, compassionate, and always willing to go the extra mile for residents and their families. Communication is clear and timely, which creates a strong sense of trust and reassurance. Overall, it’s a welcoming environment where residents feel valued, respected, and well cared for.
Coal Creek Post Acute deserves more than 5 stars! The building is beautiful and well taken care of. They have the best nursing, therapy, and wound care department out there. The care my Mom received while there for almost 2 months was above and beyond what we could’ve asked for. They have doctors on site and available at all times which is phenomenal for patient care. I would highly recommend Coal Creek to anyone that wants to assure their family is well cared for.

As a health care professional, I have seen many levels of patient care over my career. In the past year, our family witnessed my brother-in-law’s horrible experiences at two skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. Then we got him into Coal Creek Post Acute–initially in the skilled nursing unit and later transitioning into assisted living. From top to bottom, the staff has been fantastic–nursing, therapies (OT and PT), case management, activities (his favorite), administration, food service, even housekeeping, maintenance and salon service–EVERYONE made him feel safe and welcomed, which brought us peace of mind since day one. We’re so grateful to have found this facility. Thank you, Coal Creek!

The building is beautiful. The housekeeping does an amazing job at keeping it clean. The staff truly care about their patients and it shows. If there was ever a concern the management team is responsive and will do what needs to be done to get it fixed. The therapy team does an amazing job of meeting people where they’re at and getting them back on their feet.

This place doesnt deserve the 2026 award they received. They failed my mother with lack of rehab, she should of been able to come home and be at 50% mobility amd strength, she is at 20%. Now pt/ot is gonna be longer for her to get back to where she feels confident to go to store by herself. The lack of following dietary request by the kitchen staff caused her to rely on protein shakes and food we brought her. The lack of communication by the medical staff on appointments she needed to have done, i.e ultrasound of her heart before a cardiology appointment has now put her farther behind on appointments which is affecting the caregivers schedule. Being left alone for hours, saying they will be right back for bathroom needs and they never come.back so she began doing it by herself towards the end of her stay. Please don’t use this place
No stars do not send your loved ones here. They are understaffed and overnight crew is thin.

I was repeatedly bounced between different voicemails and transferred mid-sentence while trying to explain my situation. If this is how they handle phone inquiries, I can only imagine the level of care for residents. Unacceptable!
I spent 40 days on two separate occasions at Cole Creek. I don’t have words to express the Wonderfull care and the outstanding personnel at this facility. They are caring and loving people doing a tough job. I highly recommend this facility definitely one of the better ones in Colorado.

My mother spent 3vweeks in rehab /recovery and subsequently loved the food and staff so much that she chose so spend her final 4 weeks of hospice care there and passes away this morning. For the most part I have no complaints and love the care and empathy they gave my mom in her final weeks . Only a few suggestions but not complaints for the future : Have beds with rails if needed to keep patients safe $550 a day for room and board is too much for end of life time . They just lay in bed a barely eat . Hospice is obviously covered by Medicare and they do do some of the work . Overall though I thank them and this facility

I am so disappointed in this place. I had reached out to them for rehab for my dad. I had him in a place that was horrible! The employees in admissions at this place acted like the genuinely cared and wanted to help! I went to take a tour and spoke with a few employees who all gave me some advice to get my dad out quicker from the other place. Needless to say I was stressed and wanted to get my dad moved and so I followed the advice. Well it was horrible advice that made my dad lose his insurance approval for any place! I left messages, emails for both the ladies that gave me advice and also copied upper management into the emails to ask for additional advice since I listened to them. I guess I should not be surprised they went radio silent and I haven’t heard back from anyone. I honestly would have been ok with just an apology!!!!!

I would love to see better interior in the rooms. Many patients in here have cognitive issues – why are there not paintings in the room like there are in the entry way and Business office??? Why do the patients room look bare? It’s disgusting how we treat our seniors. This is their home away from home- but the onky picture in the room way an 11×14 tiny picture behind the bed. No couch, one chair. Food is disgusting- hockey pucks for hamburgers. It’s so sad. Money needs to go to patients room, not business offices and entry ways to show off. My dad has just begun his stay, but first appearances are EXTREMELY disappointing. Staff seems nice. But there is no chart in the room for communication between shifts. No names of care team posted. This place needs to make it “homey” but also informative. I’ll update my review after his care. But first impression- it’s looks great for photo ops, but not realistic for the appearance of the room. Right now, it’s hard to give 2 stars.

When I walked into the facility, I immediately felt welcome. The private rooms are well appointed, beauty/barber shop is top notch, dining services are remarkable! I would recommend, again and again! Beautiful facility to spend time rehabbing at.
